With hotels in a handful of cities including Brooklyn, Kyoto and Toronto, Ace Hotel is a global American hotel chain with a boutique and distinctly cosmopolitan feel. Distinguished by its hip decor, city-specific styling and chic dining options, the Ace Hotel’s first location in the southern hemisphere is a welcome addition to Sydney’s Surry Hills.
Located on Wentworth Avenue, the newly opened Ace Sydney offers a total of 257 stylish rooms across its 18 storeys, as well as a number of dining options.
The architects behind the hotel’s bespoke interiors are Flack Studio. Drawing inspiration from Australia’s stunning natural landscapes as well as the “easygoing design favoured in the Australian suburbs in the 1970s”, Ace Sydney brings together ochre-red tones, a sunken lounge and plenty of greenery to pay a stylish homage to Australia.

Featuring Ace’s distinct musical touch, each room has a custom Tivoli radio as well as a king-sized bed to slip into after a day of traipsing through the city and taking in the sights.
However, if you’re looking for an extra dose of industrial-chic luxury, the Loft Suite boasts floor-to-ceiling views of the city, high ceilings, a walk-in shower and a cosy L-shaped lounge area.

As for dining options, Ace Sydney’s Lobby offers craft cocktails and shareable small plates while LOAM dishes up burgers, meat dishes and cocktails for dinner.
In the coming weeks, Ace Sydney is set to open a laneway cafe and bar called Good Chemistry as well as a rooftop restaurant, Kiln.
