Flying Private: The Latest Empty Leg Deals

Private jets are known to be quite expensive, however, there are multiple ways to secure a good deal and empty legs are right at the top of the value list.

An empty leg refers to a repositioning flight or a jet that may be returning to its hanger. The reason the flight is discounted is that someone may have chartered an aircraft for only one way and subsequently the return route will become for sale. Similarly, if a plane is needing to get to a particular location to pick up guests, the airplane has to be repositioned and therefore goes on sale to that particular location.

Pros and cons

Of course, the upside to empty leg flights is the ability to travel luxuriously at a fraction of the usual price. However, it’s important to consider that you’ll need to be flexible with your departure time and aware that the flight may even be canceled. If the primary charterer moves their travel time or even cancels their trip, this will affect the empty leg. Another thing to keep in mind is that food and beverages may be limited.

Take a look at the latest deals on offer.
