As far as luxury travel destinations go, it doesn’t get much better than a private island..
So 200,000 square meters of pristine natural beauty on the isle of Raa Atoll in the Maldives archipelago is surely the latest must-visit holiday hotspot.
Recently announced by Italian luxury brand Bulgari, the Bulgari Resort Ranfushi (meaning “little gold island” in Dhivehi, the Maldivian language) is set to open in 2025.
Expanding the Bulgari Hotels & Resorts empire to 13 luxury establishments around the world, the new resort will comprise 54 rooms including overwater villas and a slew of world-class resort amenities.
Once construction is complete, visitors will have a choice of 33 beach villas, each with its own swimming pool, 20 overwater villas, and the crowning Bulgari Villa housed on a separate exclusive island.
There will be an enviable list of amenities on offer including a fitness center, yoga pavilion, and private library, as well as the iconic Bulgari Bar, as well as The Bulgari Spa, Bulgari boutique, and La Galleria.

The new Maldives location will also feature four of Bulgari’s signature culinary experiences. Enjoy authentic Italian cuisine at Il Ristorante – Niko Romito, supplied by Michelin three-star chef Niko Romito, or Italian beach food courtesy of La Spiaggia.
Bao Li Xuan restaurant, which is a twin of Bulgari Hotel Shanghai’s Michelin two-star restaurant, delivers Chinese fine dining. Japanese concept Hōseki is also found at Bulgari Resort Dubai.

As with all Bulgari properties, Italian architectural firm ACPV Architects will lead the design of the resort delivering on the brand’s signature modernist style codes.
We are convinced that this new gem of hospitality addition will ensure once again the highest levels of quality and innovation to our international customers and we look forward to sharing with them the Bulgari values in hospitality at this new, very exclusive location.
Jean-Christophe Babin, Bulgari CEO
The Bulgari Resort Ranfushi is the first of multiple new hotels to be built over the next five years with the company opening a Miami location in 2025 and a Los Angeles site in 2026.
